New Members of LABC
On July 20, Terra (left) and Jesse (right) Haws were baptized by Pastor Richard Sanders. Jesse recently made his decision to follow Jesus as Savior and Terra made this decision several years ago but had not been baptized since that decision.
Here is what Terra wrote about Larkin Avenue Baptist Church:
"Our names are Jesse and Terra Haws we moved to Elgin in January although, Jesse did grow up here. We have two small children J.D who is 3 and Bre who is 6. We found the church on the internet when we first moved here. Our first visit to the church I knew we were going to stay with it. My husband was driving trucks over the road and only home once a month when we first moved and I didn't really have any friends or family to help me and my kids adjust to the area, the members of the church from the first day became our friends and a strong support system for me and my kids. Everyone instantly made us feel welcome and at home. My son who had never felt comfortable going to Sunday School by himself meet Mrs.Debbie and instantly feel in love. I don't even have to walk him to class he goes on his own. They have had a lot of activities for the kids. The kids ask several times a week are we going to church today? We feel Gods presence in the church. I think God lead us to this church because he knew it would help me and the kids not feel alone in a unknown city. I tell my friends that LABC is our home because the members of it are our family and will do anything you expect from family.
